“I find no passion in technology for its own sake with no regard of if it is doing good or just making rich companies more money.”

I feel this is the issue with most people who entered tech and got disallusioned by it. It wasn’t a passion for tech itself that brought them there. It was their ambition to succeed in a lucrative field that they were not really interested in, but that they thought they could still succeed in. Without passion, there is no purpose, and without any real purpose, there’s only disdain.
