A large amount of the populace still thinks that AI just materialized out of thin air in 2023. No matter how much is available to the average person on the internet about it, they will always consider it a “new” technology.

I guess one can say that’s fair because their lives have only been impacted by that visible recently. Consequently, since it’s true what people say, that the average Joe and Jane only think of things as soon as they are inexorably thrust in their faces (and not a moment sooner), I don’t expect any amount of exposition, unless it’s done by simplistic pop culture zeitgietism, to change that any time soon

Or will AI have a hand in making people smarter and more cognizant?

— Well that’s a topic for different time. For now I invite you to my talk on A.I. and video games.

The development of the gaming industry has actually lead to the rapid advancement of A.I. and A.I. tools for the last 4 decades or so. It’s surprising that people haven’t really latched on that connection that much, since gaming an A.I. from my perception, were intimitaely tied for awhile.

From the abaility to outsmart and outwit the player, to the ability to gave complex conversations with people via NPCs (non player characters), to serving to create complex, invinitely varied and abuntantly rich worlds — A.I. can and has done it all.

So let’s take a look at where A.I. Started at its humble beginings with such masterpieces as Pong in the 1970s, and eventually evolving to the vast expansive Radiant system of Bethesda and Fallout Fame, which allows for complete immersion and escape into a limitless fantasy post apocalyptic world, there’s so much to cover that we’d probabaly need to break this series up.

But without further adieu, here is the video:
